Who we support Neurodivergent

Support for Neurodivergent People in the Sunshine Coast

Support that works with how you think, not against it. Sensory aware, predictable, and planned with you, not for you.

A group in the community

Your way of doing things is the starting point

Neurodivergent covers a lot of people: autistic people, people with ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s and more. What they tend to have in common is a long experience of being asked to fit systems that were not built for them. We try not to be another one.

So the support is planned with you. How you communicate, what your senses can and cannot handle, what a good routine looks like and what wrecks one. We write it down, and we brief every worker on it before they arrive.

If you have a specific diagnosis you may want the autism or ADHD page instead. This page is for the approach we take across all of it.

How it usually runs

What support can look like

Led by what you want to do. These come up most.

Community access

Getting out in a way that is manageable, and building up to going solo where you want to.

Routines

Structure that holds, built around how your brain works.

Executive function

Starting, finishing, organising, remembering. Practical support with the things that stall.

Social connection

One to one, or our small Coffee and Games group if and when that appeals.

Study and work

Support around transitions and the parts of the day that are hard.

Social work

Assessment and reports that describe your needs in language the NDIS funds.

Where we work

Across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay

The same team and the same approach wherever you are. If you are just outside these areas, ask us. We will say yes or no.

Predictability

No surprises, and no timetable you are failing.

Changes are agreed with you first. Sessions can be short. Stepping back happens when you want it to.

  • Sensory needs briefed before a worker arrives
  • The same worker while a place is still unfamiliar
  • An agreed way to leave early, no explanation needed
  • Written plans you can read and change

Questions about neurodivergent support

Do you understand ADHD as well as autism?

Yes, and they need different things. ADHD support tends to be about starting, finishing and organising; autism support tends to be about environment and predictability. Many people need both, and we plan for the person, not the label.

Can I communicate in writing instead of by phone?

Yes. Use the form, or email, and tell us that is how you prefer it. We will keep to it.

What if I am not diagnosed?

You need an NDIS plan to use funded supports. If you are not sure where you stand, ask and we will tell you what the next step is.

Will every worker know my needs?

Every worker who supports you is briefed from your written plan before they arrive. You should never have to explain the basics twice.

Tell us how you like things done.

That is where we start.
