Who we support Psychosocial

Psychosocial Disability Support in the Sunshine Coast

Recovery focused support for people living with the effects of mental health conditions, led by a Master of Social Work.

Two people talking on a walk

Recovery is not a straight line, and we plan for that

Psychosocial disability is the NDIS term for the functional impact of a mental health condition: the days when getting out, keeping a routine or dealing with people is the hard part. Support here is about capacity, not treatment. Your treating team does the clinical work; we do the day to day alongside it.

That means we plan for setbacks and do not treat them as failure. A bad fortnight does not reset anything. We adjust the pace, not the goal, and we stay engaged through the weeks that are hard.

The team is led by a Master of Social Work with case management and crisis experience, which matters when things get complicated.

What support can look like

Practical, and shaped around what you are trying to get back to.

A routine that holds

Regular times, regular people, and the structure that makes a week manageable.

Getting out again

Community access at a pace that suits, starting smaller and quieter than you might expect.

Home

Support with the things that slip when energy is low: meals, the house, appointments.

Working with your team

We talk to your psychologist, GP or mental health team when you want us to, and stay in our lane.

Social work

Assessment, reports for plan reviews, and case management when there are several moving parts.

Back to study or work

Support around the steps, without pushing before you are ready.

Where we work

Across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay

The same team and the same approach wherever you are. If you are just outside these areas, ask us. We will say yes or no.

Through the hard weeks

We do not disappear when it gets difficult.

Consistency is the whole point of this support. The person you see on a good week is the person you see on a bad one.

  • Setbacks are planned for, not treated as failure
  • The same worker, with a backup you have met
  • Honest answers on what we can and cannot do
  • Coordination with your clinical team, at your say-so

Questions about psychosocial support

Is this therapy?

No. We are not a clinical service and we do not replace your psychologist or psychiatrist. We provide the day-to-day support that sits alongside treatment.

Do I need a diagnosis to ask?

You need an NDIS plan to use funded supports, and psychosocial disability usually needs evidence of functional impact. If you are unsure where you stand, ask us and we will tell you what the next step is.

What about a psychosocial recovery coach?

Recovery coaching is a specific NDIS support item and not every provider delivers it. Ask us directly and we will tell you whether it is something we can offer you or refer you for.

Can family be involved?

As much or as little as you choose. Some people want family in every conversation; some want none of it. Both are fine.

Tell us what you are trying to get back to.

We will build the support around that, and stay with it.
