About Matt
A social worker who has also worked as a support worker, case manager and team leader, which means there is very little on a roster he has not done himself.
Matt studied marketing and design in Brazil before deciding, in Australia, to become a social worker, finishing his Master of Social Work in 2020. He worked as a case manager with the NDIS and in Child Safety residentials before going back to support work, and started The Energy at the end of 2023 after enough people told him he should.
He works to a community development framework: bottom-up, strengths-based, and focused on empowerment. Being Brazilian, Matt thinks fun is essential, which is why he is involved in football and cultural activities, and why the Brazilian drumming turns up.
